What’s it all about?

If you ski or snowboard, you need to be at the all-new Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo, which will kick off the season Nov. 14-16 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This new consumer expo is presented by the MnSno group of ski areas and will offer great entertainment, giveaways and deals for all ages.

Nearly 100 exhibitors, including local, regional and Western ski areas, are set to participate. Leading ski and snowboard specialty retailer Hoigaard’s is the exclusive retailer for the Expo and will be holding a huge pre-season sale with deals on equipment and apparel, including special discounts on helmets as part of a public service campaign.

“There hasn’t been a ski and snowboard show in the Twin Cities for a number of years, but we know that people in Minnesota love their winter sports and we’re thrilled to be revitalizing a consumer expo here,” said Bernie Weichsel of Massachusetts-based BEWI Productions, which has been staging successful ski and snowboard expos nationwide for nearly 30 years. “It’s going to be exciting and a great value for everyone.”

Entertainment for the Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo will include a trampoline show by The Sky Rider s featuring Olympic athletes, a stop on the DNA Evolution Tou r featuring an indoor rail jam competition with local snowboarders and freestyle skiers, and an après-show saloon area. Each paid admission will receive a free value-season lift ticket to a local area, as well as a subscription to SKI, Skiing or Transworld Snowboarding magazines. Well-known skiers and snowboarders will make appearances throughout the weekend, highlighted by pioneering extreme skier Glen Plak e, who the Denver Post calls “one of the most visible snow sliders on the planet.”
